Review of autonomous self-healing cementitious material

Abstract Concrete is a well-known versatile material, and its application very common in most structures. performance high compression but low tensile strength, this leads to the appearance of microcracks when structure bears designed loading. Such ignored, leaves vulnerable attacks such as seepage water, chlorides, other materials that lead reduction performance, extreme cases failure structure. Since cracking inevitable concrete, new with self-healing properties are introduced into mixture take advantage external while making concrete stronger. This type widely researched from 1970 until present day still ‘proof concept stages, few no applications autonomous real-world paper an attempt further classify existing methodologies find gaps between researchers. The healing present-day research varies results; means methodology requires standardization. Furthermore, does not mean maintenance required, it implies easier method possible due benefits gained through possibly higher early cost construction.
